A recent survey reveals that over half of Americans (52%) have sold traditional assets like stocks or gold to invest in Bitcoin. Additionally, one-fifth of U.S. residents allocate more than 30% of their investment funds to cryptocurrency. Overall, 68% of Americans now own cryptocurrency, marking a notable shift in their financial strategies.

According to a survey by Chainplay and Storible, digital assets are becoming more significant in Americans' investment portfolios. This rising interest in cryptocurrency aligns with the expected changes in U.S. policy under President Elect Donald Trump’s second administration. Since his re-election, Trump has appointed pro-crypto and innovation-friendly individuals to key cabinet positions. These appointments, along with Trump’s pre-election promises, are thought to have driven Bitcoin to a new all-time high.

The survey findings seem to back this idea, showing a rise in cryptocurrency adoption after Nov. 5, 2024. "A significant driver for this increase was President Trump’s election, which prompted 38% of Americans to boost their crypto investments. Among those who expanded their portfolios following these events, 84% are first-time buyers, indicating that political milestones are successfully drawing in a new wave of crypto investors," the survey report stated.

Moreover, the survey revealed that 64% of Americans who own cryptocurrency have recommended it to family members. Additionally, the findings suggest that 60% of respondents anticipate doubling their crypto holdings in 2025. Furthermore, around 77% of Americans plan to buy more cryptocurrency in 2025, highlighting the growing adoption of digital assets. Other significant survey results include a strong interest in memecoins, with 51% of investors allocating over 30% of their crypto portfolios to them.
